Booval House is a rare Queensland example of two-story Colonial Georgian
architecture. It was built in the 1850's for George Faircloth &
family, and was the homestead for a 310 acre 'model farm'.
It is listed by the National
Trust and the Heritage Act.
Booval House is a
privately owned historic
home and gardens. The owners
live in the house, and are
happy to help couples
celebrate their wedding
here.
The heritage gardens of
Booval House are an
excellent venue for wedding
photographs, and garden
weddings with light
refreshments.
The air-conditioned restored chapel is especially suitable for smaller weddings, up to 70
seated guests. The chapel is
consecrated. Other rooms
such as the Drawing Rooms,
with period furnishings, may
be available by arrangement.
Booval House grounds
incorporate a collection of
horse drawn vehicles and
farm implements. Open days
are usually held alternate
years ( 2006, 2008 etc).
"Arias at Sunset" is a
special charity event each
March, organized by Zonta
for about 400 guests. The
acclaimed Cambrian Youth
Choir and talented Bundamba
Salvation Army Band lead
"Carlos under the Stars" on
the last Saturday each
November - with about 500 -
700 people present each
year.
Payment will generally
be by a tax-deductible
donation to the National
Trust of Queensland.
